callm privacy
EFFECTIVE 18 AUGUST 2026 · PLAIN ENGLISHcallm is a menu-bar utility that mutes your microphone, counts down your next meeting, and quiets your Mac around a call. It has no account and no server, and nothing it reads — your calendar or your audio — ever leaves your machine.
What is collected
Nothing, and no account is required. callm has no login and no backend. Its settings live in callm's own storage on your Mac. Your calendar and your audio are never recorded, stored off your Mac, or transmitted. The one-time unlock is an Apple in-app purchase: Apple processes it under its own privacy policy, and callm only checks whether the unlock is owned — it receives no payment details, name, or email.
What it reads on your Mac
Two things, each only on your Mac and only for the feature it powers. Calendar — callm reads your events to show the countdown to your next meeting and to notice when one is in progress. Microphone — callm mutes and unmutes the system input and reads its level, a number that never includes the audio itself, so it can warn you when you're muted while talking, or live on a hot mic. It never records or listens to what you say.
Purchases and Shortcuts
The unlock is handled by Apple, as above. Call Mode's optional Do-Not-Disturb runs an Apple Shortcut you create yourself — callm triggers it and passes it no data of yours.
Analytics and ads
There are none. No advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics, no tracking identifiers, no profiles built about you. Nothing in the app is measured for anyone else's benefit.
Third parties
Apple only, for the App Store purchase, under Apple's own privacy policy. No analytics service and no one else receives anything, because callm sends nothing anywhere.
Where it lives
On your Mac, and nowhere else. There is no cloud and no server, which is also why there is nothing for anyone to leak.
Deleting your data
Delete the app and its settings go with it. There is no online account to delete, because there never was one.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing that could identify a child. No age gate is required because no personal data is gathered in the first place.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the previous version stays available on request. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
