Why Lume is waiting on its CarPlay widget

Lume's phone app has been done since spring. What isn't done is its CarPlay dashboard widget — and to be clear, that's a widget: a single glanceable tile on the CarPlay dashboard, not a full CarPlay app you open and tap through.

That distinction is the point. You should never operate Lume while driving, so the widget shows one number — cost per mile, the month's tolls, or miles to the next service — and gives you nothing to interact with.
